CBU Product Project Manager - Vodacom - Johannesburg

Job description

The implementation of Vodacom and Vodafone initiated Consumer Product Management projects and/or Company Wide Projects with associated activities. The specific project manager will focus on commercial and technical development to ensure successful delivery of a new products and product enhancements.

Implementation of Projects within the Consumer Business Unit Product and Project Management Group

· Ensure efficient end to end implementation of approved projects according Project Management Process.

· Manage delivery schedules for a range of products to ensure timeous implementation and compliance with the requirements defined.

· Collaborate with all relevant groups (internal and 3rd Parties) to develop solutions to comply with required project specification.

· Effective management of project management teams from diverse areas of specialization.


Project Management

· Workshop/Meeting organisation and facilitation.

· Stakeholder management.

· Accurate, regular and adhoc project reporting to stakeholders.

· Project administration and documentation.

· Conflict management.

· Drawing up and managing project plans and project schedules.

· Manage change control procedures to ensure key scope changes are escalated and accepted.

· Effective management of project risks, issues and concerns.

The above needs to be achieved through adherence to the methodology defined and adopted by the Project Management department within Consumer Business Unit Product and Project Management Group.

Communication and Reporting

· Ensure that relevant documentation is approved, communicated to all impacted parties as per the process.

· Collaborate with all relevant groups to ensure correctness of business requirements.

· Prepare documentation and reports for various levels of Vodacom Management.

· Conduct regular project meeting with all relevant groups followed up by well documented minutes.

· Ensure timeous and effective escalation should it be required.



Job Knowledge:

· Project Management Processes methodology.

· General Telecommunications knowledge (Commercial and Technical).

· Computer Applications, MS Project, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Project Management Tools e.g. PPM.

· Process Mapping skills.

· Service Level Agreement and Contract Level Agreements.

· Network Architecture.

· Product Development.

· Commercial Processes.

· Budget.

· Project Management.

· Horizontal and Vertical Management.

· Financial Management.

Change Management.

Education and Experience:

· Matric or equivalent.

· Minimum of 1 year project management qualification recognized/accredited by the Project Management Institute.

· 8 years project management experience of which 5 years relevant telecommunications experience.

OR

· Relevant 3 year Degree/Diploma or NQF level 5 project management qualification recognized/accredited by the Project Management Institute.

· 5 years relevant telecommunications experience of which 5 years has to be in project management.
